People say that life is a journey. Sometimes , this journey can be a rough one. You feel lost, defeated, alone, and full of fear.

But you haven’t given up. There’s a part of you that tells you that somehow there’s still hope, that you just need a helping hand.

I can help. I am someone who accompanies individuals through the difficult terrains in their path.

Since 2006, I have been supporting first and second-generation immigrants in traversing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, isolation, self-esteem, life transition, questions of racial and cultural identity, caregiver stress, discrimination, racism, and systemic oppression.

My psychotherapy practice draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities that I am trained, which include: Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems-Informed EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Reiki.

Likewise, if spirituality is central to your life, I create a safe space for us to explore the impacts of your spiritual beliefs to your mental health, so that we can tap into the healthy aspects of your spiritual life to aid in your healing and growth.

My therapeutic approach is also guided by teachings from my personal journey. Like so many people, I had my own struggles with anxiety attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts, anger, grief, and shame.

I understand what it’s like to be in the dark: to be rejected and abandoned, to experience loss, to feel hopeless and powerless, and to be a target of discrimination and prejudice. I know how it is to be wounded, and this helps me to bring compassion and understanding into the therapy space.

Furthermore, my lived experiences taught me a few things about how to deal with one’s woundedness in a healthy way, and I integrate these insights into how I tailor my approach for each individual who I support.

Aside from being a therapist, I am also a hike leader. If I’m not hiking on my own, I am often leading urban hikes in Toronto and also outside the city. I am also quite a geek. I regularly play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends and I’m very invested when I role-play my characters. Likewise, I’m a very spiritual person. I meditate a lot and practice Reiki.
